So, I go backpacking and climbing in the Bridger Wilderness for a couple of weeks and get back to civilization and see 2.2 upgrade mayhem which has me confused. Specifically, I am wondering about the status of the 2.2 OTA (second version) for those that are still on 2.1 and did not receive the initial OTA. The sticky implies that one cannot get the second 2.2 OTA unless they already have the first version. However, this makes no sense to me since many are still on 2.1. Further surfing reveals that no one needs to put in the first 2.2 release to get the second 2.2 release. So please clarify, to my apparently Neanderthal mind, the fate of a OTA update to the latest version of 2.2 to those of us still on 2.1.

You are right to have some confusion.
The bottom line is that if you do nothing, and wait for the update, you will get all of them. They might come as 1 or 2 updates, but you WILL get them all.
