I have a HDMI cable. I have connected it to th TV & phone. It is not working. What am I doing wrong

Samsung Galaxy 4+????never heard of this device. are you sure you have the right name for your phone? is this an S4? a Note 4? how do you have the phone connected? via a usb to hdmi cable? an adapter?

just get a google chromecast....no need for wires.

nope........ though LG is indeed a brand, they stop making phones this year. and getting a new phone will not help the op connect to a tv.
