Connect Webcam to Android Tablet

    Hi,

    I have just started to look at getting a cheap tablet to play with, but is it possible to connect a webcam to a tablet that does not have a build in camera as standard? Just for using with Skype and Google chat?

    In theory yes... in actual practice I'm not really sure.

    Many of the current crops of Android tablets have USB ports connected to them. For that reason you could, theoretically, connect the web cam to the tablet. The challenge is finding a device driver for that web cam that's compatible with your specific implementation.

    Here's an example of someone who created drivers to make an Android phone into a tethered web cam for a Windoze host:

    I suspect other drivers are out there too...
