I'm in the process of trying to flash a new ROM to my DInc. I used Unrevoked 3 to root the phone, then tried installing and running Titanium Backup. I had checked the box to give it root permission but get an error that it can't get the permissions when it runs. Then I installed Connectbot to open a shell and check root status. The program wants a username/hostname combination to login. What would I use to log in to the phone's OS? I don't remember being queried for that info, or inputting same, when using Unrevoked...I know this is probably simple but I'm not a Linux/Unix guy and it isn't obvious.

Download terminal from the market, type su , should then be prompted to allow superuser permissions. Hit allow and should get a # sign letting you know you that you are a superuser.

Your problems with titanium should be solved by hitting the "problems" button in titanium.
