    Hi All

I'm considering the Atrix with a laptop dock, but I need to be able to connect to old-style VGA projectors at my work. Will I be able to just get a USB-to-vga adapter, or will it be impossible? I also noticed there isn't a HDMI out on the laptop dock... any thoughts?

Because HDMI is digital and VGA is analog, you won't be able to do this without some sort of signal converter. I did a quick google search and found HDfury. The "Gamer" looks like it will do what you need, but you will likely need an additional adapter to go from the mini-HDMI on the phone/media dock (or laptop dock if there is an HDMI out) to VGA.

IF the phone will let you get into the webtop with a directly connected HDMI cable, you could get the above device, an adapter, a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, an you're all set. I stress IF as we don't have confirmation that the phone will allow this yet.

I very much doubt that you'll be able to use a usb>vga adapter, there are lots of drivers involved with those products and although windows usually has tons of drivers I don't think this phone will have any special drivers aside from HID drivers and perhaps external storage support. Your only bet for using it with a vga projector is to use the multimedia dock and using an hdmi>vga adapter from that.

the laptop dock has a VGA output, but it can only be used for mirroring

so basically there's no way to connect a standard VGA projector to the Atrix, unless I do a regular dock with HDMI out going to a HDMI-to-VGA adapter?

that's pretty lame... and I really want to get it, but I don't think I'll be able to use the damn thing...
