I actually tried the Samsung Galaxy S3 a few years ago when I had the iPhone 4s. I loved the phone but the major draw back was the music. I had problems getting my album artwork on my songs and I also had issues with the artist info as well. I also could only play music with my Aux cable in the car, so that was was another major issue since I could play my iPhone 4s with my USB cable in my car. Needless to say, I returned the phone. Now 2 years later, I'm considering the Samsung Galaxy S5, so any feeedback to help me make this decision would be greatly appreciated. I'm also concerned about malware and virues.

    1) Forget it. You'll have the same complaints.

    2) If a computer of any kind is connected to the outside world, it's subject to malware and viruses. If anyone tells you that iPhones can't get malware and viruses, look for the punchline or the notice that he failed kindergarten.

My biggest issue was music, are you saying it's still an issue with Samsung phones? I forgot to add, I now have a vehicle with bluetooth so the connection is no issue as long as my music moves over smoothly to the S5.

I have no problem playing music, pandora, etc from my SF in my car using bluetooth. It's great. Admittedly, the only problem is that the DRM protected files on itunes will not play on Android... but that's maybe less than a 1/8th of my collection, so not the end of the world. I use Doubletwist, BTW, to sync music from itunes to S5... onto the external SD card. You can set it to sync music, playlists, album art... and I believe a setting to search the internet for missing artwork. Finally... my last phone was also i5 and I recently tried going back to it for a week just to see what I missed (or not). The test lasted only 2 days. The screen quality and size, the customization options, the actual confidence that you have a SMART phone... not a dumbed down one... the S5 is a tool... the i5 is mostly a toy. (still prefer my ipad mini to my old samsung tablet, though). Enjoy!

I just moved all my music from iTunes to Google music..all the music is stored on google servers up to 20k songs..

All my playlists came over as well..

All you need to do is download google play music client in chrome browser and it will automatically move your iTunes library to google..

You can even continue to buy music from iTunes and just sync google play music on your PC..

Glad that worked for you, Gulu. Not an option for me because I have significantly more music than that... plus I wanted my music on my phone and available anytime anywhere.

don't need to. go to settings and mark cache during playback & auto cache or click the thumbnails on songs/albums that you want to listen to so that it can be downloaded.

If you don't have wifi or any access to internet. you can tell what music you can listen to.

one will be blacked out or grayed out.

Don't know if this helps either of you, but I use iSyncr. Syncs my iTunes playlists that I chose to my phone over wifi or cable. Works great for me...

My car always says USB failed to load but it says that with every phone I've ever tried so... Lol

Also I tried two apps to fix some music stuff (unknown artist, etc) and I haven't found anything that works.
Other than that I love my s5. If you find anything that works let me know!
