On my wife's HTC Hero - latest ROM Orange UK - when she sets a particular ringtone for a contact (e.g. me). The Hero saves it but doesn't use it. That doesn't happen on my identical Hero, same carrier, same ROM.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

how is the phone # showing up on the Hero? if you have dashes etc, the Hero "thinks" there is a mismatch on the number, if you take out the ( & dashes, then it should work fine. The standard phone # convention is screwing things up, this also affects the BT on my BMW, the phone book syncs fine to the car, and if I select from the car a number with anything more than just the #'s, it would not dial.

    Thanks sclui56.
Actually, that wasn't the problem, but your logic got me thinking... It turned out that my wife had several different entries for me in her phonebook. Culled myself and Robert is my mother's brother!!!

    Whoopee!
