All my contacts have the Googlemail "g" showing up next to them, which I think means they are controlled through Googlemail.

But where are they stored? Or how do I find this out?

I need to have them on my phone, as I need to sink with a hands free unit.

If they are not currently stored on the phone and I need to copy them, will I now have duplicate entries?

    Hi,
The contacts are stored in your phone.
The contacts displayed with the (g) are backed up by your Google account.
Meaning that if something happens to your phone ex: (factory reset) you will recover the contacts again.

Android is not as good as webos synergy.
But is getting better with merging contacts together lately as well.

You need not to worry about it and just try and test it with your hands free system.
