Hello guys! New member here!
I've joined android world about two weeks ago, bought a samsung galaxy grand duos after I lost my nokia lumia. So far so good, but I`m having a little issue and thought maybe someone could help me.
On android, I think the best way to sync contacts is through gmail, but all my contacts are on outlook and I like that facebook integration, mainly beacause of pictures and email addresses. What I'm trying to do is sync my gmail and outlook contacts. This way I can update contacts on my phone with gmail, and they would be auto added on my ipad that is synced with outlook, and vice versa.
What is the best way of doing this?
I'm using a mac and don't need to sync contacts there, but all applications I found to do this are windows only.

The Mac bit makes this a bit difficult. Does Macs have an Outlook connector allowing sync between Outlook.com and Outlook for your computer? It's an official Windows addon for Outlook. You can sync your contacts from your phone to Outlook.com instead of Gmail and it will work the same way.

No, I don't have outlook on my mac and couldn't find it either on the mac store.
On my mac I have the stock adress book and mail apps, but I doubt it can be done through them. Even the google app for gmail facebook sync is windows only.
Any more thoughts? Almost ready to give up, set up gmail on the devices and live with the pain of contacts not updating on hotmail.

You've confused me a bit by saying Outlook and then that you don't have Outlook on the Mac. Let me see if my summary is correct:

On a PC you have Outlook that you like to mix with Facebook
You have an Android Phone
You have an iPad
You have a Mac

Is this what you are saying?

Probably the best cross platform Sync for all these devices is CompanionLink which has a 2 week free trial and DejaCloud sync which will connect all these platforms. CompanionLink allows you to go through Google, but with DejaCloud you don't have to, and the sync is pretty fast for these platforms.

just to be clear

i don't have a pc, just a mac
android phone
ipad

what I'm trying to do, plain and simple, is to sync my hotmail (that is linked to facebook) and gmail contacts, and make it work between the three devices.

With Outlook.Com; Microsoft is switching over to CalDAV which should be compatible with both Google and Mac. "Should" is the operating word here, it may take them a while to figure it all out.

Thanks for you help Cicto, guess I'll just have to wait.
Set up everything with gmail, and synced my facebook contacts on phone using sync.me. Contacts will be imported to hotmail from time to time.
Impossible doing what I wanted for free. Hope hotmail gets on the carddav gang soon.
