This is what you call the dumbing down of the smartphone. It's called Google thinks you don't need that kind of functionality. Google's PIM just sucks compared to the likes of Outlook and palmOS. Even Palm dumbed down their PIM on. WebOS to conform to Google's setup. You're now supposed to lookup everything you want to find. And if you guess wrong you get to go back and start from scratch, not back to your search. Trying to lookup categories is tedious. No memos or tasks. But they are only a year away from being a year away from being implemented. Then there's the calendar... don't want to go there.
Sorry for the rant. My beef started back with the palm pre and palm throwing away 13yrs of a great PIM to conform to Google. considering basic functionality, the line between smartphone and dumbphone is definitely getting blurred, and not in a good way. Core smartphone functionality has given way to all the bling of the web, messaging, UI and social integration. It's a shame.
rant over. Back to the game. C'mon Phillies!!!
