contacts have american style numbers

After resetting my phone, i restored the contacts list, resulting in my contacts having numbers in the format (000)-999-8888 or similar. Is there an app or a workaround to restore them to British format?

I have the same problem with mine, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is the same, but they still dial ok, are your contacts on gmail??, if so then you could edit them on the pc and they will automatically update on the phone.
