Help Contacts not syncing

I updated a bunch of my contacts on Gmail just recently and when I synced my phone some updated while others didn't. Specifically it seems work postal addresses are missing on the phone. Adding photos, last names, phone numbers, all updated. Also, after attempting to sync I get a message that says "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." But my last successful contacts sync was on April 16th. Any ideas why this would be or how to fix it?
