Help Contacts problem

My friend has just got a Desire and is having a problem with her contacts. She has chosen to just put contacts in People manually and link them to Google and Facebook manually, which is fine, but when she goes to call or message someone, the phone brings up all of the contacts on her phone (e.g. the Google and Facebook ones) rather than just those stored in People. This is really annoying as it means she has to scroll through loads of people she'll never want to call/text.

We've tried going to Accounts & Sync and unsyncing contacts but that hasn't worked...any suggestions?

if you go to all apps, and choose people, from here press the menu button on the phone and choose view.

you can then deselect facebook etc

I don't think that was quite the problem, but looking at my Legend, I think it happens to me too - it's just that I had favourites at the top buffering them.
