Having downloaded so many apps, I tried to organise them by creating several folders onto one of the home screen and dragging installed apps into the appropriate folders (e.g. games into a games folder, social apps into a social folder, etc.). If I switch scenes (saving the current scene before doing so), and then switch back again the folders are where I left them, but the app shortcuts inside them have disappeared.

This only happens when I change scenes within TouchFLO. I don't get this problem if I change from TouchFLO to say aHome and then back again. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or able to recreate the problem. I'm not sure if the problem is specific to my phone, or it is indeed a problem with TouchFLO.

There's a fix in the forthcoming UI update that may fix that. It certainly now allows me to add shortcuts directly from a couple of apps that wouldn't play with TouchFlo/SenseUI before.

Dunno if they're related or not, but I can confirm that a folder created on a Home screen now does retain its contents after switching to the stock 'HTC' scene and then back. I've just tried it.

Thanks for checking that out. I did a factory reset (in case the myriad of apps I had downloaded was the cause of the problem) and unfortunately the problem is there. I guess I'll have to wait for the T-Mobile official release of the new firmware.

I just encountered this same folder-contents-disappearing thing on my htc hero. I am using the Sense UI the phone shipped with, with no major changes to anything yet.

Strangely, only some of the contents disappeared. Most folders retained one to three of the items that were inside. I couldn't tell if they were the newest ones I had dragged or the oldest, but I don't really want to test it again because I just got everything back into place.

Now really waiting for Eclair... :)
