Happened to me a few minutes ago. Turned off phone for about four minutes, to see if contrast could be corrected that way. It worked, thank goodness.

Anyone else notice this issue? It's the first time I've seen it. Bought my phone from a Best Buy in NYC about a month ago. Haven't gone deep in tweaking my phone since I've rooted it (aside from Apps2SD and blocking OTA updates) so I think it could happen to unrooted users.

No, it's not that at all. It was definitely contrast crazy. It happened as I was surfing whitepages.com, searching for info on what turned out to be another spam caller... that's another problem with its own category. Too many of those lately on my end.

Copied this explanation of unexpected contrast from pcguide.com:

The screen contrast is too high or low

Explanation: The viewed image appears to have too little or too much contrast. Images with too little contrast appear dull and gray. Those with too much contrast (which is less common) can be too bright in some areas and too dark in others.
