Ok, well, at least I think it's new. It's got a bit more razzle-dazzle than the standard weatherbug or weather channel type of apps. It's called Palmary Weather and you can try it at the marketplace or at Palmary Weather for Android - AndroidZoom.com

Click the menu for animated radar and other maps as well.
Not earth shattering, but clean, hi-resolution images that look great on the Droid. Great airport feature as well.

May even replace my weather channel app.
    2 thumbs up!

I really like it, and I'm kind of glad it doesn't have a widget, because I love my Weather Forecast Widget. Looks like I'll be keeping them both.

Does it update to your locations or only the one you put in it.

Excellent free app. WB Elite is still better with zoomable maps though.

Thanks for the tip! Excellent app, especially with it being free! Lots of attention to detail.

Does it keep your phone from sleeping? I looked it up in the market and was about to download it when i noticed a warning about it preventing sleep mode. that would drive me crazy! Ive never gotten an app that said that before. Are there ways to work around it?

It's a really nice app, looks fantastic. I would like to use it but it's not at all accurate for my area (set w/zip code). It's pulling warnings and airport info from 150 miles away and not my local airports! The temp/forecast is right though but the radar only seems to update hourly. I hope it gets updated for around here, I would use it for sure if it was accurate for me.
Going back to weatherundergound and 'radar now'.

Same thing happens to me. I have a pretty major airport near me, yet the only airports that show up are pretty far away.

Where in NY are you? I'm just outside of Albany and getting Syracuse and Binghamptom info! Albany airport is less than 10 miles away but not on the list.

    Just installed. Great looking app!

The issue I've had with the Weather Channel app is that it takes FOREVER to update sometimes. Sometimes I have to kill it and start it again to get it to work.

Palmary looks a hella better. Hopefully it runs better, too!

I want a clean looking widget and to turn off the warnings that are popping up for an area about 200 miles from me!
    Very sano app!

P.S. Palmarysoft just emailed me and said a widget will be available on their 'Pro' version released in March

I used Palmary's apps before when I had a Palm Treo and they are good. I use Palmary Alarms now for my more complex alarms. (I am kinda scatterbrained about remembering to do things) and it is great. Very flexible.
So I am sure I will like their weather app just as much.
    Thanks for the tip.
