I just realised the one very important Windows function Android seems incapable of doing is Copy and Paste. So how are we supposed to move files from one place to another. I can do this by linking my tablet to a PC. But that is rather a 'comedown' needing another PC with Windows to achieve it.

Where are you trying to move your files?

If within the phone (folders), you can use a file explorer app to move them. You don't need to copy/paste, the file explorer app will let you choose the entire file.

What phone do you have?
What Android version?

I have a fairly old reconditioned Asus Android Google Nexus 7 I am very happy with.

I should have also mentioned the bigger problem of trying to copy then paste text and images such as from files held on say Google Drive.

If you're speaking of a clipboard app,try this:

Files held in Google Drive are technically not in your phone. You have to download them first. Then you can see them in File Managers.

I must admit being an earlier tablet it only has one camera and no slot for a SIM card for a phone.

However I can make much cheaper calls than using UK BT by using Skype. Except BT appear to block our attempts to change the caller display from INTERNATIONAL to my phone number. Probably because many folk like me rarely answer any hidden numbers

Skype-Out calls will usually show as international or unknown number. It won't show your BT landline number because you're not using it when doing VOIP calls originated from Skype. You can "rent" a real phone number from Skype, and that will show, instead of unknown number, it's called Skype-In I think. And people can ring it as well.

If you look under View my Account then Manage my Features you will see an option Caller ID. When you open this it appears to be an option to chose such as your phone number to be shown instead of International. When I activated this and entered my full number starting +44 it announced a SMS was being sent to me with the password to activate the change.

The change did last about one day before presumably the BT computer changed it back to International or Withheld. I lodged a complaint with Ofcom for what good it will do. My pal I use Skype regularly to phone has solved the problem. I first phone him only allowing his phone to ring just twice, then phone again with the long call !!
