Can I copy text from anywhere on the phone? Or is it only available in certain apps / instances?

I would like to know how (if possible) to highlight a part of a text message, or a phone number from my contacts list, certain text from an email; then copy / paste

I have spell check enabled; but it doesn't seem to notice any errors (while text messaging).. Is this normal?

That’s how I see things. Any text entry app or field, I can lonpress to get Select Text then Stop Selecting Text. Same for websites, but the longpress brings up Select which you tap and get the copy option. Never as easy as ctl-c and ctl-v, but keep goofing with it and it’ll kinda make sense -- bothered me too at first. Longpressing brings up new things all over this phone.
