I would like to back up my HTC Desire Micro SD card to my PC, in case my phone is lost or stolen. When I put it in the PC card reader it runs continuously, and it does not show in My Computer. ( I have Windows 7). Any suggestions please? - Mike

I mean that the Micro SD card never seems to complete loading (a green light remains lit on the card reader) and the card does not show up on My computer as a removable storage device - Mike

I can get the PC to recognize the phone if I hook it up via USB cable. But I still have not managed to get it to recognize the Micro SD card. -Mike

Have you got a separate card reader? It could be corrupt and windows scan disk / format may sort it. Or alternatively it could be dead. It seems it's a relatively common occurrence with the 4gb cards that comes with the Desire.

My card reader works fine with the SD card from my camera. I am using an 8gb Micro SD card in the Deisre, which also works fine. It seems I shall just have to
connect up to my PC via USB, which isn't so bad really. Thanks to everyone who has tried to solve this mystery.

Put the SD in a adapter then put in USB port. It should show up and be ableto copy files to a new folder.
