Below, two photos of the damage inflicted on my Sprint S3. Didn't happen on my end. It came this way from a previous owner. For now, I've ordered a clear outer case (as I like the pebble blue finish), and a set of screen protectors from amazon. I am considering a glass replacement.

Should I have it done professionally, or go the DIY route? I'd like some thoughts on this. I am leaning towards a pro job, as I don't want to risk breaking an otherwise perfectly working S3. It's not being used outside of home at the moment... mostly used as a WiFi device for streaming audio, games, Chromecast, etc.

I'd give some thought on how much money you want to put into a physically damaged S3. Taking it into a repair shop to have something like the front glass repaired will probably cost more than just buying a fully functional, refurbished S3 from swappa.com. It's a relatively labor intensive task so the cost will be low on parts but high on labor, and be sure to get a written estimate. If you opt to try this yourself, it's going to require proper tools and patience:

Thanks. I think I'll just live with it and apply the stuff when it comes from amazon. I've never broken a phone screen. FOMO? What's that? ;)
