A new music player called Cubed. There's a QR there for downloading it on that page - searching in the market was useless for me because it's literally a superscript 3 for the name. It's by Filipe Abrantes, who also did RockOn Any way: Works well on Android 1.5 on my Hero, pulled in my playlists from iTunes (brought over via Doubletwist), has three sizes of widgets if that's your thing, has multiple views (the cube view is slick, and is default), can import art if you want (it picked up my iTunes art with no problem) and so far is playing really well. For me, it's working better than the stock player. With the stock player, my songs would "skip" for a second at the beginning. Potential negatives: Switching playlists is slow (might be smoother on 2.1). No equalizer. If it keeps working well, I may just ditch my iPod Touch - because I can use a stereo BT headset with the Hero. Edited to add: Well, I'm a little disappointed in it's Bluetooth integration. And I've become a near-fanatic about a stereo BT headset. I tried pairing two different stereo BT devices (one a Sony, the other a Motorola) and got the same results: volume controls work fine, but using the next/back buttons to change songs would bring up the Hero's stock music player with some other song playing - so I'd have two different songs playing simultaneously. Which is kind of a shame. Having to pull out the Hero, swipe, and unlock it just to change songs isn't really something I like. But the music does play better than the stock player. So, now I'm just wishing technology were better.
