    Hi!

I feel like I have exhausted the internet looking for an answer to this and thought you guys could help.
All I want is to use a custom icon for folders. That's it. I am aware of many apps that allow you to change app icons, but not folders.
I know this is possible by changing the launcher, but that sound scary to me....

    Thanks!

Changing the launcher shouldn't scare you, and unfortunately is probably the only way to do what you want. I would suggest downloading Nova Launcher and giving it a try. You can always just uninstall it and go back to touchwiz

In the app drawer choose modify and simply put one app on another and you have created a folder.
You can modify that folder by changing name and colour.

Search the play store for an app called Folder Organizer from Fabio Collini. Great functionality with fully customizable folders & folder icons.
