So I am brand new to the Android OS on the HTC Inspire.. and I'm trying to get familiar with it all.
    My biggest question is:
Can I custom folders in the Gallery in which to organize and store my folders? The iPhone wouldn't let me and that was one of my biggest pet peeves.

Also, any suggestions for must have apps? Anything that is considered ESSENTIAL for a good experience? I haven't quite decided if I like it better than the iPhone yet... I am looking for that something to push me over the edge...

Gallery: Yes and no. You can create as many folders as you like to group your pictures, but the gallery will display them all in the all pictures folder, as well as the separate folders that you create.

No such thing as must have since everyone likes different things but I'll list a few of the ones I really like.

    Dolphin HD
    ES file explorer
    Handcent sms
    No lock
    Documents to go
    Download all files
    Picsay pro
    Ringdroid
    Vignette

That's ******ed. Exactly how the iPhone was. I expected that kind of redudancy from apple. Not from Google.

I use quickpic for my photo gallery. I can create folders and move the pics easily. I also like the folder preview (shows 4 photos per folder where the stock gallery only shows one pic)

    apps:
    Astro file
    App2sd
    Songbird
    Ringdroid
    Zedge
Flow for facebook (i use the paid version)
    Go!chat
    Make your clock widget
    Widgetsoid
    Youmail (visual voicemail)

+1, I've been using QuickPic too for a while now.
