Today I went to check with verizon before signing up for t-mobile. The manager knows me and has helped me out a few times over the years. He verified that all the verizon promotions on pre-paid are for 3g data only--no 4lte included. I told him thanks for your help, but it is time to move to t-mobile and cut my $144 per month bill in about half- i have unlimited everything plus insurance on a note II

He told me to call cu stomer service and ask for the customer loyalty team--they have a great special to stop long time high value contract customers from jumping ship:

$60 per moth for unlimited talk and text in the usa--no roaming. 2 gigs of 4 lte data and $10 for each extra gig without limit. i only go over 2 gigs per months on rare occasions when I have longer driving trip with google maps and pandora going for many hours or do a bunch of streaming without wifi.
-i can continue to use teathering through a third party application.
    - extra charges including tax, verizon fees and my basic $5.18 monthly insurance is about $74 per month. a number of time per year, i'll buy a gig or 2 of data.

Customer loyaly has a new deal and it looks like a good one. these falks have contact me to move to share everything plans--i give up unlimited data and they would give me a $100 month plan with 2 gigs or 4gigs for $110 or 6 gigs for $120

    -----------------------
I am eligible for an upgrade subsidy. my new one year contract would start tomorrow. if I chose to up grade, then I will be obligated to extend my special LOYALY PROGRAM CONTRACT for two years from the upgrade date
    under this special rate plan.

To me this makes more sense than moving to t-moble--they got me and i am giving up my unlimited data plan.
    ----------------------
Am I missing anything--with big red when it looks too good to be true is almost always has some non-obvious catch.:)

Sounds like they just want you of unlimited so you're no longer a threat to their data stream.

I was paying $125 for a two line 700 minutes plan with unlimited text and unlimited 4G data. After 6 months, a $10 promo credit for the second line vanished. Then, my corporate discount got challenged (I no longer work for my previous employer). Today, we are paying $171 per month. My wife uses too much data to downgrade to a capped data plan. It's not much, a combined 6-10GB/month. I've looked at T-Mobile, and right now is come down to service in our immediate area as well sin general. Everyone except AT&T sucks. They just put a tower up in the neighborhood. Verizon is putting one up now.

I will likely reassess things when my contact us up. I'm tired of 2 year contacts though.

I got a similar share everything plan with one line ... 2GB data ... unlimited talk and text ... and ... mobile hotspot (as in no root-ing and no third party end-run).

This was done through my sales rep.

My monthly cost dropped about $35/mo.

my new LOYALTY PROGRAM is not a share everything plan.
i think i will lock in the $60 with 2 gigs and $10 for each additional gig for 2 years.

even if i lose it after two years and am back in the expense plan pool, t-mobile should have made significant advancement over the next two years. i might go to t-moble now based on price, but their coverage is still lacking when you are outside urban areas

i guess i need to ensure that all the terms are really locked in for two years. they would not provide a written copy of the loyalty program terms because it is only available to "special customers" ie so i would not post it here.

just finalized the change. i am guaranteed 1 year at this rate. if i upgrade within 30 days they will promise my two year extension on this loyalty program. likely, but no promise if i upgrade within the next year, my 2 year extention will be on this same loyalty program.

to qualify: 10 years with verizon and unlimited data plan. i am giving up umlimited data to save $70 per month for 12 months and possibly longer. the loyalty team leadewr said that this plan is the t-mobile killer. as long as they are losing customers to t-mobile this plan may stay in effect. he thought, but could not promise, if i upgrade in 6 months, i wiull be able to get both the subsidy and the 2 year extention on this loyalty plan.

i really don't want to upgrade to note 3 or anything else until we get more info on kitkat
and the next generation of phones. 64 bit should be coming with a whole-sale upgrade in speed and processing power/battery life.

i may not be an apple user, but i appreciate the implication of the new A7 64 bit chips.
sammy and lg and motorola will be on the bandwagon within months, then the newer software and app's will quickly follow, i hope.

my note is fine for today. i just saved $70 per month

I burn through on average 7 gigs a month on up to a high of +10 gigs. My Razr Maxx is working smoothly and I have no complaints. I will stick with my unlimited plan until Verizon closes it out. Then I will consider moving to the other major cell service companies if they have a better deal than Verizon.

if you are using 10+ gigs per month, then i agree. i use a nexus 4 as an international travel phone. i spend time in south america--all 3g with diff frequencies in diff countries/carriers.

the nexus 4 is on t-mobile in miami. t-mobile is not an acceptable alternative today.
in miami and se florida's urban corredor, t-mobile is generally pretty good. there are many dead zones in the fringe areas or traveling to other urban areas with fairly good coverage.
25% of the car trip between miami and orlando has inconsistent data and poor voice service. driving to the keys, emails get lost and text messages sometime are delivered to outer space rather than my cell phone.

my wife and I may move to tmobile when our plan is up in June. Been with Verizon 12 years or something like that. 700 minutes, unlimited for both lines, unlimited text......comes to like 145 a month after taxes and discount. Can't complain. We both would like to upgrade our phones now but see no point in the "EDGE" plan at all. And we aren't shelling out over 1K to get two new phones.

call and ask for the customer loyalty team. maybe they have a plan to bring you back in.
it is woth 15 minutes to ask. i am happy that i did so.

tell them about the deal they offered a friend:
$60 per month on a one year contract with unlimited talk and text anywhere in the usa--no roaming charges. 2 gig per line of 4 Lte data. ask if you come back after 12 years and less than 6 months out can they help you. youy also would be motivated to come back if they gave you a phone subsidy on your smart phone purchases?
they do have some smart phones that are are good phone, but discontinued that they are motivated to sell eg galaxy III, moto max, maybe even note II [being replaced next month?

Yeah, I am online using data a hell of a lot more than talking on the phone or texting. Unlimited data>>>>>>>>>>Unlimited talk/text. We've 4 lines on our family plan, 450 minutes a month, 250 texts, and we have only cracked that one month when the inlaws were in the hospital and their 7 kids were talking up a storm.

My girlfriends Mom has been with Verizon since before they were even known as Verizon. She has her main line at a major discount, and she gets phones pretty cheap to. Forget the upgrade prices, she paid $100 for the new Droid Maxx.

Unfortunately when I joined onto her account I couldn't get my DNA at a discounted price unless I went to the store she usually goes to, and she was with me. At the time though I needed a phone within the next 24 hours other wise I would have lost my phone number.
