Customize lock screen

I performed the Lollipop upgrade and now very sorry I did. I use Nova launcher and used to be able to customize my lock screen with action buttons I use most and also would get a preview of text messages and notices of phone calls on the lock screen. Now I cannot for the life of me figure out where to go to customize the lock screen. Was it touchwiz before lollipop upgrade or was it Nova launcher. Can find it anywhere. Please help. Also anyway to get rid of lollipop upgrade, absolutely hate it!
