Accessories Cutting DX screen glare in the car?

I got a set of the Verizon screen protectors when I bought the phone, although they do not cover the entire glass, they cover just the display area, they are anti-glare and provide a better navigation experience for me.

How do you set your screen brightness? I have been searching around about this problem, and everybody claims that the only way to make screen more visible even with a glare is to set brightness to 100%. Kind of sucks because it will drain battery once its out of the charger, but wondering what others have they screen brightness set to use outside or in a car? The screen protector I use does cuts glare, so now I’m starting to wondering if its an issue because my brightness is set too low?
