Root CWM ????

Since the og warp and the sequent have pretty much the same specs why cant we use CWM from the og warp and modify it to work on the sequent

i have stated this myself, twice. even wrote all the code that should be needed and posted it here
http://androidforums.com/warp-seque...2-got-cwm6-booted-need-someone-build-img.html
unfortunately i cant get the android source code with my unstable 3g internet connection, and no one has built it into an img yet
as far as the fact that its the same as the warp though, there are key differences that cause it to not be directly portable, but i have modified those things in my code it will just take someone who knows how to build from source seeing my post

if i knew how to do it i would attempt to build it

its all good, its a pain to get set up, and it requires linux, you cant do it on windows. so i dont expect just anyone to be able to do it. i know there are people around here that can though, so hopefully as soon as one of them sees my message theyll take it up and get the job done. if it takes too long though i should be able to get my hands on the source code in a week or so, i just dont wanna wait that long to even find out if my work payed off and if i can fix anything that may be wrong with it

this is true. its got a blazing fast processor, the only real issue with the phone is the stock os always taking up all the ram, you get a copy of cyanogenmod on there tho all those problems go away. i can hopefully get it working once i get my hands on the source, im a good part of the way to understanding how to make it work i just need to be able to test it

hell i might even be able to get ftm mode to play nice with the recovery. could the original warp still enter ftm mode with clockworkmod installed?

no, we couldnt ever figure out how to get it incorporated.

well that sucks, ah well im at least gonna try to get cwm 6 working right. finally got the source, and a new computer thankfully. so as soon as cygwin finishes processing all the files im gonna try to get ubuntu installed and get to work

i guess the source is corrupted or something, thats what i get for pulling it from a 3g connection. so yea i cant do anything, unless someone else wants to help me out and try building my code from source its just not gonna happen

I am an ubuntu user with intermediate terminal skills. I am offering build assistance, however I will need instructions and troubleshooting. I have my phone rooted thanks to this forum ;) but I have not even attempted cwm for fear of bricking (no money for a new phone right now so I need to be careful). If I can help please let me know. I can hardly wait for cm10 on the sequent :)
