Root cwr install problems

my huawei ascend wont flash cwm, this is not the first ascend i have rooted or even flashed diffrent roms but for some reson after flashing back to the stock android 2.2.2 update my ascend wont install the recovery. rom manager says recovery flashed sucsessful but stock recovery is still there???




p.s my phone is the metroPCS version if that helps

ROM Manager didn't work for me. I think there are certain Ascends it just doesn't work on. Just flash everything manually, as the Ultimate Ascend Customization Guide walks you through. Grab the newest versions by picking through the Handy Ascend Download Links.

ok adb and fastboot worked but install recovery just stopped at waiting for device, what do i do?

Are you sure you had unknown sources and usb debugging checked?

Hm. Redownload a fresh copy of the CWM zip file and try again. That's usually one of the first things I do because it's such a common problem to get a bad download.

I had the same problem. Only way I found was to use a different computer.

Or you might be able to flash back to stock (2.1) and then flash CWM...

i got it to work but what i did was do the 2.2 update again and try flashing it and it worked now i am finally running cm7.2 again, do you know where i can get the stock 2.1 ROM i've looked all over and cant find one just for back up and somthing to fall on

Well, your best bet would have to have performed a nandroid backup just after installing CWM. But you can always get back to stock following the How to Flash the Huawei Ascend to Stock thread.
