    Yup. :)

Looks like he's a man of his word - Launcher2 launched, no FC.

Ooooo...now Launcher2 app tray is five column! Don't think it was that way before, but maybe I'm mis-remembering.

The included Launcher2 has the "dots" navigation (moves right and left through home screens via dots to right and left of tab), but does not appear to include the shortcut option that HelixLauncher2 provides.

Haven't tried Helixlaunche2 on this yet, but if the stock Launcher2 works, it might as well...gonna try it and see.

Nope - still continual FCs on Helixlauncher2...

For those waiting for the JRummy build, he had just mentioned over on the Cyanogen forums that he would be releasing and update soon after 5.0.5.7 went live, so hopefully that will be coming later today...

I think Koush secretly works for Motorola. It is a master plan to get us to void our warranties, wear our phones out, and be forced to spend $700 for new ones. Evil bastards

Thats what makes it so devious and perfect. We void our warranty, then it bursts into flames!

I've been updating w/out wiping data and it's been rock solid, no FCs or any issues, performance excellent...so the updates from .4 to .6 and to .7 have been very easy.

I really like jrummy's them work as well, so may update from nextheme to a .7 version of his if he releases one. Kind of torn, though, I do enjoy nextheme very much...applying nextheme 2.01 via ROM Manager right now...I copied the new Launcher2 from .7 to my SD card before the nextheme update. If the Nextheme puts an older themed version of launcher2 on my system, I can always try copying back the one I saved from .7. But would only do that just to see what happened...launcher2 lacks the two shortcuts on either side of the launcher tab, and I just can't give those up... :)

Just a heads up if you are coming from 5.0.5.4 make sure you wipe data cause if you dont you will get constant fcs of the launcher.

Has to do with the helix2 launcher in 5.0.5.4 being named the same as launcher in 5.0.5.7. People are having problems with it on cyanogenmod forums

yeah there are no configure options for the launcher. i am going back to .6 and running helix. i prefer the non 3d app tray anyways.

You can still run helix on 5.0.5.7 but helix2 is nothing but fc

HL2 is annoying. I hate the 3D aspect (what is with everything being 3D these days?)

HL runs smooth and easy, like a shaved, slutty sprinter.

yeah but by the time i reapply the theme, restore apps, and get my homscreen the way i want it there is no point to upgrade and go through all that when i am not even using the only thing different from the 2 versions.

You wipe data+cache between upgrades, I'm assuming. I used to be really anal about that myself, but with Cyanogen I haven't wiped since 5.0.5.3 and everything seems good; I download the new releases as soon as they come out.

yeah i always wipe even with upgrades as i had a few issues when i did not. i will just wait until another build comes out and see if there is an need for me to update to it. i loaded it but reverted to my backup since it was faster than rebuilding my setup.

    I am on 5.0.5.4

Truthfully, am I going to see a huge difference in anything if I make this change? Since, as someone noted earlier, I will have to wipe data to make this upgrade, which means time seeing up my home, is this worth me taking that time or waiting until there is a more significant update?

If there is something that is not working in your current setup and this release promises to fix it and/or there is some new great feature (don't really see any in this release) go for it. If all is now running well for you, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." (I wish I had the discipline to follow my own words).

My motto is more along the lines of "If it still works you're doing something wrong".
