I just flashed cyanogen rom with a lot of help from CRPercodani and others but when I try to use Better Cut to install my custom icons they come out sized wrong. Anybody know how to fix this?

All I need now is a theme and MY icons and all will be bliss. Looking through the themes now.

Is nobody running 5.6.2 and running their own icons? Should I downgrade to an earlier version of CM in order to do this? Out of all the people running this rom nobody runs thier own icons and if you do how? Please help this is bugging because I worked so hard on making a few that I use.

I used bettercut and put my an icon on the screen the normal way...Although if you get the pro version of ROMManager and go to download ROM, go to the Smoked Glass-Esque theme you can just install that. I am using it and it is nice.

Thanks but I tried better cut and it resizes them wrong. Also if I wanted a look like everybody else I know how to flash themes but all I want is what I have been able to do from day 1 with my droid. Thanks for trying to help.

DxTop lets you pick icons and names for every icon on your homescreens. It also has a customizable app drawer, up/down screens, and a lot more.

Sweeterhome also lets you pick icons, and REALLY customize your homescreens..if you have the time to set it all up.

Thanks for your help but I don't really want a home replacement just want to change a few icons.

I guess even the pros here don't know how to go into root to change an icon as none have answered. Never thought this would stump them. Guess I will have to try another rom as this is a deal breaker.

its easy to change the icon for any app, just go into the apk file with root explorer and replace the icon with yours.

I went into the apk but cant delete it like i did with bootanimation. Only gives option to extract. Any ideas? Oh and thank you for all your help. Last night and tonight

what you might have to do is take the rom apart on yourr pc, using 7zip you can replace icons inside of each apk without extracting and rezipping everything. when your done you can flash it like before.

wouldnt you have to resign the apks then? I know when I have changed out pngs in apks I have had to resign the apk

If you use 7zip there is a feature where it doesn't even extract the apk so you don't need to resign anything.

thanks. this method was mentioned on another forum to me and I tried it but couldn't reinstall the app. Maybe I need to resize and resign just to be sure. Will try again today.

I was just playing around with this and it works but if you make the file size too much larger than the original it will need to be resigned

Yea so you can't put any HD pics of titties for your icon's.

so whats the point of changing the icons then??? But seriously resigning apks is pretty easy

OMJ do you have an easy program for Win7 that will resign apks?
