i've been really impressed with rc2 and rc1, battery life shot through the roof for me out of no where with rc2 so i'm looking forward to stable.

how does bluetooth work now, is it fixed? are all functions available?

All functions except 4g and HDMI as usual... Its buttery smooth and battery life for has been pretty exceptional with the stock kernel. Not sure if you have been follow the threads over on XDA but you have to set up notifactions in the CM settings. They now utilize the wimax led for notifications now. The normal led is only used for charging.

I'm thinking of installing this ROM, but have never done so before. Where can one find the clearest instructions for installing a ROM? Thanks!

i actually came back here to touch on this subject!

first off, i never even knew there was a second LED on the right side of the grill, my phone just WOW'd me again haha!

second, how in the world do i customize it. and why can't i use any apps like "blink" to customize my LED settings now, like frequency of blinking and color and things like that

if there is an app that works please let me know, thanks :)

The way CM6.1 is set up you now have no control over the previous led, only the wimax led. With that said as of right now the only options you have are amber or green color. No blink rate just yet. Im sure with in the next few nightlys they will have an option for more customizations. Anyways to access the options go to settings>cyanogen settings>user interface>led notifications. then click misc and set up from there. Also if you weren't aware you can make lock screen gestures, so when you make a pattern on the lock screen it will unlock the phone to what ever you set it up to unlock. To access the gestures settings>cyanogen settings>input settings>lockscreen gestures.

    Welcome to CM! lol

nice, yea i have only been using CM since 6.1 RC1, that is when i rooted and hopped onto the bandwagon, there is so much under the hood stuff like this!

is it known if the wimax LED is a multicolor LED capable of full reproduction or just green and amber?

and what was this LED used for on STOCK? i have NEVER seen it till tonight

It was used to notify you of a WiMaxx network in range. I think this is a much better purpose especially since I'm nowhere near a 4G tower.

There is also a red on one of them too

  16. As soon as it is 4G capable, I'm going to give it a whirl. I literally use 4G everyday, so I'm not necessarily willing to sacrifice it.

The red led option is only available if you use wimax notifier... CM only utilizes green and amber. Which works out good since wimax notifier can only be used for sms/mms.. I have it set for solid red led for sms/mms and then the green for everything else. It is my understanding that CM will add more features for the wimax led in future builds.

I really want to try it but i'm going to wait for 4g capability. I don't use it religiously but I like to have the option whenever I do intense web browsing or downloading.

I am on it now :) the only reason I would suggest against it is if your on a 4g area. Otherwise flash out and enjoy it is fast and smooth!

Looks like there is an update that came out today, to CM6.1.1.

If I want to update, do I have to wipe everything and start over with the update zip or will the update zip just install over the current ROM and I won't lose anything?

EDIT: I noticed on the update log that there are some kernal tweeks. I installed a different kernal after flashing CM6.1 stable. Will updating cause issues with my different kernal?

You wont have any issues. Just wipe cache and dalvik and then flash.

    ^^

Agree with above. Just wipe cache and dalvik and flash away. The update will remove the other kernal and replace it with the new kernal.

Thanks guys. Yeah, just flashed the update with no problems, and noticed the kernal was changed. Hope I get better battery life after this. :p
