CyanogenMod Won't Install! Plz help

When i try to install Cm through Recovery i get "can't install this package on top of incompatible data.."
How do i fix this?? Please help!

Did you at least factory reset before trying to install it? You should always format /system, /data, /dalvik and /cache

Yes i did factory reset and cleaned cache but the same thing happened. Then i tried TWRP recovey and installed it, but i got some red lines showing error but it did say Installed Successfully but when i rebooted my phone i get the cyanogen boot up logo and it doesnt get past the logo. just stays there
