Just right now i got a notification that my sd card is damaged... i tried taking it out and all that but to no avail... help?? i really dont wanna reformat it...
You might try putting it in an adapter and plugging it directly in to your computer. That might enable you to get one more read off of it so you can back up the data. You could then try to format it, and move your data back on to it.
IF you are able to format the card don't expect that to be a permanent fix. If the card is truly damaged in some way then it's going to fail again - formatted or not.
I haven't used one in a long time, but I would probably look into an app (for your PC) that's used to try to recover data on a damaged SD card. Get a card reader that works with micro-SD and get one of these apps. (Google for one, or perhaps others have recent experience.) I believe that good ones are non-destructive - they will recover what they can and then allow you to format the card.
Lol! Its my curse of having read something, sometime in the past--knowing that its somewhere... I drove me crazy yesterday hunting this down...(didn't have much to use to search for).
It kind of stood-out because OTD had just rooted (shortly after Frisco did) and her /sdcard got gunked-up somehow. I was just happy that Nestor was able to suggest a fix for her.
Thanks! Hey, Frisco, by the way, I just wanted to make sure you got my reply to your PM last week(end?)... I know you are/were busy (seems like that's when you started all of your thread-moving activity) and that you've had problems with PMs in the past--just wanted to make sure you didn't think I had ignored you .
Cheers!
P.S., I hope the things we suggested to the OP (erisx) actually worked...haven't heard back yet..
Lol (again!)....by the way, I've always really liked your avatar (very serene)...I picture you, laying in one of the hammocks on the beach, with your Eris in one hand and a frosty drink in the other...
I've always wanted to start a thread to have people post-up their favorite avatars and/or usernames...there's gotta be a lot of great stories behind each!
That's not too far from accurate Think 'boat drink' for my frosty beverage and you've pretty much got me figured out.
My wife and I have a hammock store, so I spend lots of time in hammocks - though rarely on the beach (the beaches around here lack trees). However it's not uncommon to find me stretched out in a hammock in the back of our boat, or the back yard, or our library at home (all libraries need hammocks ) or ... well, you get the idea.
