Data Monitor

Hi can someone recommend a data usage app for my phone. I only really need it to monitor my 3g internet usage not Wi-Fi. I also want to be able to enable/disable the app when I want as I don't need it eating up system resources or battery life. I would prefer the app to be free but if I have to pay for it, I would like to buy from a UK seller so that my bank doesn't charge me any ridiculous card fees.

Recommend both 3g watchdog and "Network Traffic Counter" by Cyril Jaquier. First one will only do your mobile network. The second will do both mobile and wifi. Both work great, and both can set up a "alert" at a certain bandwidth used

Ok thanks. I was taking a look at 3g watchdog earlier and it looks good. Is it possible to enable/disable the app so that it isn't always running?

Yep, you can set it up so it only becomes active when you have a cell data connection.
