Help data roaming, 3g, APN - help please

Hi there,

Before I go on holiday to Greece I just want to make sure of a few things re: roaming, 3g and APN.

On my Galaxy Portal (I'm on 3 Mobile, running Android 2.1)....

Q1. WITHOUT using a specially downloadable app (like Quick Settings), how do I switch off 3G?
[Under Settings/Wireless & network settings/Mobile Networks I have 3 options: Data Roaming (disable, national roaming only, all networks), Access Point Names, Network Operators]

I do NOT have the "Use only 2G networks" option.
Q2. Is this an error?

Q3. What do these Data Roaming options mean? If I select 'disable' does this mean that if i land in Greece, from UK, then 3g will not be used?

Q4. Using the "Quick Settings" app, I have the option to turn APN off - this seems to switch off 3G. Why can't I seem to do this in "Settings" ?
