Hello everyone, I have one question thats really been bugging me because I can't seem to find it any where over the internet. My question is, Can i totally block off Data Usage through just the phone itself? Is there any possible solutions? I want this phone, but just to have the wifi capability, I do not want any expensive data charges. If this phone is not possible to do so, I know some are, but I do not know which. How about the Htc Touch Diamond? Or any other phones you guys possibly know of that can disable the data function.

Verizon will require you to have their data plan and you will not get any expensive data charges if you have that... other than $30/mo

Yes, but is there any way possible to just disable all forms of data from the phone settings? but still have the capability to use the Wifi option?

    Yes

Simply change the APN so it is incorrect , hence can not connect. Then the only way you can access internet is via WiFi unless you put the Correct APN in :)

It will block all forms of Data via the Network {Service provider} hence you will not get charged :)

The WiFi will not be effected at all and you can browse whatever you want on it

    No Problem! :D

You can simply change or Delete the APN settings and that would do it ;)

Be aware that for some networks the data APN contains the necessary settings to be able to send and receive MMS messages, if you cripple the APN you could cripple this function on your phone

Make sure you did input a wrong apn setting, otherwise luckily you used another roaming network. :D

    @ the OP

A word of advice: You see the APN's you already have just add some random characters to the end of the APN section then click save :)

& When you want the APN back ..... Just delete them random characters ;)
