Help DE03 official sprint release?

If you get the [DEBUG] SetupConnection error do the following...

1) Uninstall the Sprint Tool
2) Uninstall the Samsung PC Studio (and any other Samsung software)
3) Reboot
4) Install only the Sprint Tool
5) Run - works perfectly with only the tool drivers

If you need the added drivers from the PC Studio for anything, just reinstall after your flash and you have them back up and running.

Helped the Mrs. get it installed tonight. followed the PDF instructions, and it installed without a hitch. So far very cool! Not much time in yet... Still setting up programs.

I'm running DD10 rooted. Do I need to flash back to cl14 before flashing the official ROM?

no. it will flash over dd10.. that's what i did
you'll have to reflash recovery though

INSTALL DE03

1: Download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/111413/MomentDE03/SPH-M900_MR2_DE03_REL_1.tar and place it into the "C:\Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade\Models\Binary" folder for your CL14 Upgrader from Sprint.

2: Flash using the CL14 Upgrader "SWUpgrade" - VolDown+Camera+End

3: Reboot, let the phone do it's thing normally till it looks like it is all loaded up.

INSTALL RECOVERY 3.0.8

4: Remove the SPH-M900_MR2_DE03_REL_1.tar file from the "Binary" folder in Step one.

5: Download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/111413/MomentDE03/recovery3_0_8.tar and place it into the "C:\Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade\Models\Binary" folder for your CL14 Upgrader from Sprint.

6: Flash the Recovery tar using the CL14 Upgrader "SWUpgrade" - VolDown+Camera+End

7: Reboot, let the phone do it's thing normally till it looks like it is all loaded up.

INSTALL ROOT V7

8: Mount the phone in USB mode so you can copy files to the flash card.

9: Download and copy http://dl.dropbox.com/u/111413/MomentDE03/joeykrim-SDX-a2.1-root-v7.zip to the root of the SDCard

10: Reboot the phone into Recovery - VolDown - Talk - End

11: Select "Apply Update Zip", Select joeykrim-SDX-a2.1-root-v7.zip and press HOME

12: Reboot, let the phone do it's thing normally till it looks like it is all loaded up.

INSTALL CUSTOM ITEMS/REMOVE STOCK APPS

13: Mount the phone in USB mode so you can copy files to the flash card.

14: Download and copy http://dl.dropbox.com/u/111413/MomentDE03/custom-SDX-update.zip to the root of the SDCard, or Generate your own custom script here - http://www.joeyconway.com/sdx/custom/index.php

15: Reboot the phone into Recovery - VolDown - Talk - End

The new updater also has new USB drivers for the Moment which is the reason why I redownloaded the whole thing.

The new updater also is setup to use MD5 checking on the tar files.... you're better of using the old one so you can flash a new recovery, etc. that were already built for 2.1

I don't believe so. I remember installing them before I had root. Try it and be a guinea pig for the rest of the homie.

Root isn't necessary to get Live Wallpapers and the N1 launcher.

By the way, if you installed the new updater and want to keep the new Samsung USB drivers but lose the signature checking when flashing, download and run this patch utility.

It's a 3MB download, and it reverts the flash utility to work just like the old one. (Will flash any .tar, not just official.)

N1 works until an app is run. then, I can't make any home screen taps work. Can't even change screens.

The most important thing to do is make sure EVERYTHING is uninstalled - then reboot - then reinstall.

For me, going from the old CL14 updater to the new DE03 updater seemed to tweak my system pretty good. Driver conflicts (CL14 found the device on Com21 DE03 foud it on Com22...) made life fun and created the [DEBUG] SetupConnection error constantly.


@mrmojoz Haven't had a CDMA lock up in weeks (even with DD03 and CL14)... Been on DE03 for a full day and besides a few random resets (could have been apps that cause that one) no lockups, errors or issues...

It says at the beginning of the instructions to remove the MicroSD Memory Card before starting. It never says when to put it back in. I'm assumming it's after the phone restarts @ #17 of step 2?

Thats nice. I just had one. CDMA lockup bug not fixed. Otherwise, I love the upgrade. Anyone still stuck on 1.5 is missing out big time.

You don't need to remove the MicroSD card.

Pandora actually sounds good now. Before you could get it to not skip and such but the bass still crackled and sounded like crap. Happy to see that it now sounds just as good as MP3s... if you set it to high quality that is.
