Help Dead Samsung S4

Hi Guys,

I have a Samsung S4 that has just gone bust on me.

It was working fine in the morning and all of a sudden it switched off and now the phone is not switching on and not responding to being put in charge or anything. I get a brief flicker of the Samsung logo when I take the battery out and put it back in but apart from that the phone is dead. I can get into safe mode or anything.

I need the data on the phone !!! I have taken the phone to a local phone shop and he claimed it was a motherboard fault and if repaired I will lose all of my data.

Has anybody else had this before ?

Sounds like the battery failed. Can you take it to a store and ask them to pop in a good battery just to make sure that's the problem?
