Delaying the standby screen and lock

Loving my DHD, using for 5 days now.

I do have a problem/query which I can't find an answer for.

My screen goes dim after 10 seconds of no use and then a few seconds later turns off and locks the phones.

How can i extend this - when reading from the web, it takes me longer than 10 seconds to read stuff but I have to keep touching the screen.

I've set mine to 'never turn off' as I was getting fed up with it locking up just as I wanted to use it .... I just remember to hit the button to lock manually. Much better.

No such thing as sound and display , its just sound or display. Under display the screen timeout is set at 30 seconds, but this doesn't affect my issue. Even if I set this to 5 minutes, it will still go out after 15 seconds or so.

My bad - assumed that wouldn't have changed between 2.1->2.2.

Anyway, sounds like something is wrong.

Ok, figured it out. The 15 second and 30 second option are both 15 second time outs. 1 minute time out seems to be 1min etc ...

Must be a glitch.

Download screebl (lite) from the market.

It stops the screen from turning off when the phone is upright (i.e. when you're using it), which is handy in it's self. But then you can set your screen timeout to the bare minimum to save power

(One thing to be wary of: If you put the phone down and leave it in an upright the position the screen won't ever turn off, using a tonne of power. Turn on 'stillness timeout' to stop that happening).
