Delete icon

I was playing around in my attempt to understand the phone and now I have an icon on the home screen that I want to delete. How do I do that? The icon has the sign of the web site and at the bottom right the symbol for Chrome. I guess this tells me that Chrome will take me to this web site. In any case I do not want it any longer. Your comments are appreciated.

Long press on the icon and drag to the trash can or simply choose delete if prompted. Gone.
