If you want to use it as a system app, you have to extract the 2 lib files from the sol and add them to /system/lib directory.

Just Google search dark Swypes and it's one of the first ones on there. There is way more colors and screen shots on every one. I posted these once but the mods removed it, just an fyi to be careful, Copyright and all

Here's what ya do:
extract the 2 lib files from the apk and move them to /system/lib.
Then take the Swype apk and move it to /system/app and reboot.
This will not work if you already have any version of Swype installed already, you will have to uninstall your old version, then follow the steps above.

Thanks I had moved the 2 files to the lib folder but did not push the apk

Figured out that I can rename it to a zip and extract the files with winrar without breaking anything

Just a quick heads up, I removed the download links for Swype.

The Swype devs aren't overly keen on their apk being distributed via file sharing sites, forums etc. I know they went after XDA because some of their devs were doing it and I'd hate for the same to happen to us.

I realise you were only trying to help and it's appreciated, but to save you/us any potential bother, it's best to direct folk to the swype site and download the beta from there.

Feel free to drop me a PM if I'm off the mark, if I'm wrong I'll be happy to re-add the links.

@ smart people- wouldn't replacing the drawable s in your current version of Swype accomplish the themed effect?

Google 'Swype beta' to get a working version of Swype then your can change the drawables (pictures that make up the keyboard) with themed ones...
