    Hi there

I have a orange san francisco and installed something to get superuser permissions. I wanted to delete everything gtalk and gmail on it to help improve the battery life. The last thing i deleted caused the market place to stop working (when i click to download anything, nothing will actually download)

Also when home screen appears (after switching on the phone) i get the error message "the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectantly. Please try again"

If i can just stop that error message coming up that would be great. if i can get the market app to work again even better

Thanking you for your help in advance
    DB

    PS
you will probably ask what i deleted. I was using the 'SystemApp Remover' app after rooting the phone with 'Superuser Permissions' + 'Busy Box Installer' and i was deleting anything in the list that was "gtalk"

The gmail app is critical to the phone as it's not just mail it handles, but essentially ALL of the google services the phone needs to run.

Did you back stuff up before deleting?

I didnt make a back up sorry. Just double checked my phone...gmail the app is actually still in my applications list. But when opened says its not working.
I read that some things should not be deleted and was trying to avoid deleting anything essential.

You could try installing again. There's the apk file here: [REQ] Stock gmail.apk - xda-developers

If you can't access the market. Try that and see how it goes.

Yeah, gmail is kinda essential (in fact, any of the gapps packages, I'd leave alone). as the details you use for that are used to authenticate yourself to various other google services.

If that doesn't work let me know, we'll see what else we can do. :)

i made same mistake m8 so ur not alone. i ended up having to flash a custom rom and im glad i did, its worth it. when u go to settings, accounts+sync, is ur google account still there or has it vanished? all u should realy delete is the orange apps. see my post on this forum. think its called "removed critical system app" good luck m8

Download the .apk file to your PC and copy it to the root of the SD Card on your phone. Browse to the file using something like Astro or ES File Explorer and just click it. It should install for you.

Alternatively, as funkylogic suggested, you may need to install an alternative ROM (very easy).

Make or install? Making one yourself is a pretty big task. Installing one someone else has made, is a totally different story altogether though. :)
