Am I being stupid, or does the standard email app not delete emails from the IMAP server?

It moves them to the Trash folder. When I view the trash folder, they appear temporarily before disappearing, but remain on the IMAP server. I've looked for an "also remove from server" option in the IMAP settings, but can't see anything.

Sorry if this question has been asked elsewhere, but I can't find it discussed about the Galaxy Tab.

depends on which IMAP server. i know that hotmail doesn't allow it, so it's nothing the Tab (client) can do about it.

    Thanks for your reply.

My HTC Desire and Outlook on my PC can both delete e-mails from the IMAP server, so I doubt it's a problem with the server.

I think there's a firmware update for the SGT. I'll have a read about it before upgrading.

I've updated the firmware, and can now delete emails. Thanks for your help.
