    HI all,

I have A rooted htc desire. ithas no telstra bloatware, and is running froyo.
the android 2.2 one with the software from here:

How To: Install Froyo On An HTC Desire | I Can Has Pi?

does anyone know where the file is found which has the very first image when you boot your phone - the screen prior to the boot animation ?

because itis the last piece of telstra annoyance that needs to go.

Totally agree with you - been searching for days. This screen is annoying me... did you have any luck replacing it?

You need to flash a generic RUU to get rid of it. Rooting cannot touch it.

Have you found a guide to do this?

If you have done this before, can you please provide the steps?

Hi vincheezel i have had no luck with this either..... sadly...done quite alot of searching around too.

i am happy with everything apart from this one niggling little startup screen.

if you have already rooted your phone with froyo / unrevoked what is the method to lose this boot screen ? at startup ?

I have rooted the phone with Unrevoked however I only changed the second animation - the first Telstra screen still appears as you need to edit the RUU...
(The second part of the animation is the Telstra finger that appears, that is what I was able to change after rooting)

to change the animation is easy... I got a program from the market place called Boot Animation... that is the easiest way... you can preview the animation too (only a few bucks)
