Help Deleting GMail Account on GMail App

Is there a way to delete my gmail account off the gmail app? I dont want to receive my emails on my phone. I was able to delete it off the email app on the home screen, but not in the gmail app under applications. Please help! Just got my phone yesterday! Thanks!

i don't know the repercussion of doing that, although i do know of a way by going through settings and applications. my recommendation is just turn off synching via settings accounts & sync, and not actually delete the main gmail account.

+1 to that; u delete the acct, u may as well delete ur phone because it'll be somwhat useless (sort of speak)
