i have a droid 2 global and i want to delete some programs like the amazon and skype ones.
i tried to root the phone using the z4root app but it kept crashing. i also only have a Ubuntu laptop to use incase i need a computer.
is there a way to remove these programs?

IF you are rooted get a program named Titanium Backup Root from the market place by they pro licence and disable the apps opposed to deleting them. Run for a few days and make sure that there are no ill affects before deleting them and you should have a backup of the app incase you need it later.
