I'll keep my eye out for threads about members moaning about going bankrupt due to excessive phone charging rather than the fact they can't see the screen in direct sunlight and have a particle of dust under the screen!

Unless you heat your house solely by burning wood and stick your hamster in a wheel when you go to bed to power your alarm clock, I'd imagine it will be a negligible amount in comparison to all the other electronics etc you own.

Switch-mode power supplies are extremely efficient. If you left it plugged in day and night for a whole year, the cost to you would be approximately

OK. So, I've unplugged all my appliances, turned all the lights off and put the Desire on charge. The candle has burned out and ruined the cake. I'm cold, hungry and bored. The meter hasn't moved, and I'm getting cramps from sitting in the cupboard under the stairs for the past 4 hours. However I will persist for the sake of this experiment.
OR.....
I'll nip over to an electricity cost calculator and work out that it costs 24p a month to run 1 amp for 7 hours a day if leccy costs 15p per kWh.
Anything else you need help with while I'm here? Tying your laces? Telling your arse from you elbow?

Is this guy in Russia living on coal power? Something tells me if your worried about how much it costs to charge the phone.. you should'nt have the phone...

Wrong. The charger puts OUT 1 amp. It draws 0.2 amps, giving a cost per month of less than 5p if power is 15p per kWh.
And that's assuming it draws 0.2 amps constantly for 7 hours, which I don't believe it does. Basically, it's cheap as chips. Much cheaper these days actually!
