Desire default messages app

Hi all,

Am new to the forum and hope that I'm posting in the right place.
My question is about the default messages application which manages the SMS/MMS messages. I have some contacts who use different mobiles depending on their location (French phone in France and UK phone for the UK).

When I receive a message from such a contact, as far as I know, I only have the option to reply (by clicking on the text input box) to the number the message came from, even if the contact already has several numbers stored...

Is there anyway round this apart from creating a new message separately?

I think the way they designed it is to make it simple. I don't think there is a way around it, but it doesn't hurt to create a new message?

Thanks for that - do you know if the message will still be stored under the same contact thread in the messages application?

press the the contact's picture (or the default silhouette) next to their name, and a box with I think four options appears. click the second one along, and then pick a number.
