    Hi all,

had a search of the forums but found no answers. Whilst I love my HTC Desire HD the battery life is not great.

Not the Desire Incredible S has come to the UK, I was wondering if the battery would be inter-changeable with the Desire HD?

I know this is rarely the case, just curious I guess as the Incredible S has a better battery.

Unless anyone knows of a off the shelf battery that actual does improve battery life above the stock one, supplied?

Most batteries I have bought suck worse than the one with the phone?

    thanks in advance.

Thanks for your swift reply. yes I have read all the threads, and use task killer etc, but I don't get anywhere near 12 hours, and can only dream of 40 hours!

I have bought an after market battery that stated it was 1600mah but it was rubbish and offered no better battery life.

I used to think the iPhone was bad, but I could stretch that phone longer through the day than the HTC Desire HD.

I realy dont think making a smart phone last through the day by killing every feature you bought the phone for.

Tip 1: Don't use a task killer. Learn how to check the battery use menu (cant remember how it looks in Android 2.2). For me the display is the main power user. Download and learn how to use Current Widget if you want to really track the usage. With 10 texts per day, a few hours of podcast listening, little talking, 5-10 mins of browsing (wifi) and display brightness on auto, i get 30h regularly.

Having debugging switched ON makes a huge difference. Recently I had accidently turned it off and I couldnt understand why my battery was draining VERY fast when it had been fine before. When I checked the battery use screen the Android OS was taking up 50% of the battery use. After realising that debugging was now off I switched it back on and within 10 mins Android OS was down to 11% battery use and today it is now only 3%. With debugging on, GPS off, bluetooth off, and switching the network to either GSM or WCDMA and not set at Auto I easily get a full days use without any problem at all. I also no longer use live wallpaper.

    cheers
