Help Desire HD Storage upgrade

Current Storage of my Desire HD is 8GB.
I want to upgrade it to 32 or 16 GB.
Possible?
What Type of Card should i buy?

I put a 32gb class 4 Sandisk memory card in mine and it works no probs, just copied everything from the old card and pasted it on the new one, no glitches at all

Yep that's fine. Steer clear of places like eBay etc as they're a minefield for fakes.

What do the classes mean on SD cards, and is the bigger the number the better?

Not really sure what to be looking for in a card upgrade!

The classes are the read/write speed; class 2 is the slowest, class 10 is the highest. Steer clear of class 2 & 4 as it could make recording HD vids jumpy.

I don't know if this is what you would call the "proper" way, but it's as good as any, I guess...

1. Hook your DHD up to your computer with the old SD card in and connect as USB mass storage.
2. Create a folder on your desktop called "old SD card" or whatever you want it to be called.
3. Disconnect your phone from your computer and remove (safely) the SD card.
4. Reconnect your phone (with the new SD card in) and copy across the contents of the "old SD card" folder you created on to the new SD card.
5. Disconnect the phone again and sit back, safe in the knowledge that your DHD now has a shiney new (larger) SD card in it

i did that and all my apps that where on the SD card are not installed anymore

Ah... hang on... I've never had apps installed on my SD card - always had enough room on my DHD.

I will have to have a bit of a search and see if I can't find anything when I get in from work!!

none of my files are in the folders in the new Sd card. I downloaded all 8gigs and it took like 45min. Once I looked at my phone it showed that there was 8gigs on the card but once I looked for my pics it couldn't find them. next time I looked it showed that the card was empty. I plugged it into my computer some of the folders had disappeared.
Not to sure what to do now.

it looks like the phone is changing my folders to its default settings and deleting things. I have a folder that is "DCIM" where I have my pictures in it. but I copied it, the phone changed it to "dcim" and there is nothing in it. Also any folder that I created before gets deleted.
